Durable Carbon Removal, Enhanced Soil Resilience
Climate change and evolving agricultural practices present critical challenges to UK net zero targets and farming. We provide a scalable, sustainable solution, turning local waste biomass into high-integrity biochar to improve soil health and lock away carbon.
Permanent carbon removal, designed for real farms, real roads and real climate impact.

A sustainable UK solution for climate and soil
Successfully navigating a net-zero economy requires pragmatic, localised solutions. Our work tackles two critical needs simultaneously:
- Carbon drawdown necessity: Global commitments demand reliable carbon removal (CDR) at scale. The UK needs domestic, verifiable projects to meet these climate targets.
- Agricultural transition: UK farmers require proven methods to enhance soil structure, increase water retention and reduce reliance on synthetic inputs in the face of unpredictable weather.
Restord focuses on the sustainable conversion of UK waste biomass into biochar, providing a single product that drives measurable progress in both climate action and agricultural economics.
The Restord Process
Closed-loop, science-backed, transparent.
Sourcing
We source local, certified waste biomass streams from Cornwall and the wider UK, ensuring a closed-loop system that supports forestry and agricultural waste streams.
Conversion
We utilise advanced pyrolysis technology to convert sustainable biomass at high heat in a controlled, low-oxygen environment.
Stabilisation
Carbon is locked into the porous structure of biochar, creating a stable, carbon-rich material.
Distribution
Biochar is tested, characterised and supplied for agricultural and industrial applications.
Application & carbon stored
Applied to soils or integrated into materials, Restord biochar supports resilience and performance while storing carbon in a durable form.
Verifiable impact: science and metrics
Every step of our process, from pyrolysis to application, is underpinned by rigorous measurement to ensure accountability and effectiveness.
We focus on durability, agricultural value and local sourcing so that every tonne of biochar supports both climate action and real-world systems.

Glad Carbon Removal Agreement
Climate startup Glad has committed to pre-purchasing Restord’s carbon removals, supporting deployment of our Cornwall biochar facility and early credit issuance.
Miles Macadam Low-Carbon Road Trial
In collaboration with Miles Macadam, Restord’s biochar is being trialled in road surfacing materials as part of a Department for Transport-backed low-carbon road project in Cornwall.
Local Agriculture Pilot
We’re working with local farms to incorporate biochar into soils, improving structure and water-holding capacity while delivering long-term carbon removal.
Additional case studies in water filtration, asphalt and more will be available on our Resources and Blog pages.
