Durable Carbon Removal, Enhanced Soil Resilience
We turn local waste wood into permanent carbon storage with other agricultural and environmental benefits.
The Science of Permanence
Nature knows how to handle carbon, but the cycle is broken. Wood rots, releases CO₂, and the cycle repeats.
Restord intervenes.
By subjecting sustainably sourced waste biomass to intense heat in an oxygen-limited environment—a process called pyrolysis—we lock that carbon into a stable structure: Biochar.
From Waste to Value
Sourcing
We collect waste wood from Cornish forestry and construction that would otherwise decompose or burn.
Pyrolysis
Biomass is heated to 600°C+ without oxygen. This prevents combustion and crystallizes the carbon.
Application
The resulting Biochar is activated for soil health or processed for low-carbon concrete and asphalt.
Removal
Every tonne of biochar represents carbon that is removed from the atmosphere for centuries.
Our Applications
Biochar isn't just about storage; it's about utility.
Agriculture
Acting as a "coral reef" for soil microbes, our biochar improves water retention and nutrient uptake in Cornish farmland.
- Drought resilience
- Fertilizer reduction
Construction
Replacing carbon-intensive aggregates in concrete and asphalt with biochar to lower embodied carbon in infrastructure.
- Low-carbon roads
- Green concrete
Carbon Removal
High-integrity, verifiable Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) credits for businesses targeting Net Zero.
- Puro.earth aligned
- 100+ year durability
